David Calleb Otieno(CD) for Westlands MP


 David Calleb Otieno, popularly known as CD, is a renowned Grassroots Human Defender and an Activist currently and is vying for the Westlands Consituency MP seat.


He is a man of the people who has the common Mwananchi interests at heart. He is contesting for the seat on an "Independent Ticket" for he desires to bring change economically, socially and politically.


Currently, he is the President of the Civil Society Reference Group (CSRG) which is the umbrella body of Civil organizations in Kenya. He is also  the Secretary General of the Kenyan Peasants League and the coordinator of Kangemi Grassroots Human Rights Movement. He was the President of Bunge la Wanananchi between 2011-2013 where he successfully led the Unga Revolution;a campaign against high prices of basic commodities, that saw the price of Maize flour go down. 


CD is very humble and is always ready to listen to the plight of the people and has helped countless people in Westlands Consituency and Kenya at large.


CD is a very understanding person and that is why he is exactly the kind of leader that this constituency needs. 


CD is campaigning on four key pillars namely; Infrastructure Development, Social Security, Social Development, Security, Environment and Agriculture which he believes will lead to improvement of the livelihoods of people in Westlands.


CD believes that all this can be achieved by an MP who is not a boss but one who works for the people hence his slogan "Let Me Work For You" which is  exactly what he has been doing in positions he has held in the past and will continue to do so once he assumes office on 9th August this year. So,if you have not made up your mind on whom to vote for think no further as he is the one better placed to work for you.


When asked about the meaning of his popular rallying call "Comrades Power!", CD explained that "Comrades Power!" means that if all people of Westlands unite, then we will have the power to change Westlands Consituency for the sake of the current and future generations.
