Kenyan Peasants League's take on Climate Change

Image
As Cop27 fastly approaches,Kenyan Peasants Farmers(KPL) wonder if enough is being done to counter climate change. There have been mixed reactions as the world at large faces extreme weather conditions that could have been easily averted if global emissions were curbed earlier as recommended. The Kenyan Peasants League have been on the forefront of this war by educating Kenyan citizens on how they can combat climate change effects. They believe that COP27 need s to change tact and face the situation head on instead of merely holding meetings in Egypt that have little or no impact as the ozone layer keeps depleting. Meru MCAs Walk Out On Governor

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza was recently disgraced by Members of County Assembly as they stormed out of the building as soon as she started addressing them.To her utter dismay, she was left addressing empty chairs.Due to the awkwardness of it all,the speaker had to adjourn the meeting. The MCAs went ahead to chant demonstration songs calling for the ousting of the current Governor.Just after they stormed out the MCAs addressed the press bitterly claiming that she came to the premises accompanied by goons which according to them wwas totally unacceptable. Embattled Governor Kawira Mwangaza was also accused of pride and arrogance as she supposedly takes matters into her own hands without consulting other leaders as is expected of someone in her position. Kawira Mwangaza later defiantly addressed a gathering at the County Assembly gate before she left but thankfully the police dispersed the crowd with teargas before the situation escalated. What was clear for all to see is that all...

R.I.P GMO

Image
Kenyan Peasants League(KPL) members recently delivered a petition to the Sugarboard office in Westlands and held a demonstration against Genetically Modified Organisms. KPL believes that GMOs are affecting farmers across the country in a negative way and that something needs to be done before the situation becomes dire. There is solid proof out there that GMOs kill as they can cause diseases such as cancer hence shortening one's lifespan significantly. The government needs to ban GMOs for the sake of Kenyan citizens as they deserve better than death on a silver platter. Multinational companies are making a lot of money out of selling Genetically Modified Organisms to unsuspecting farmers who are not aware of the risk involved.GMO products such as oranges don't have seeds hence farmers can't replant the oranges. In conclusion, the Kenyan Peasants League demonstration was successfully carried out despite security forces warning them not to conduct them for this is a cause worth...
