 As Cop27 fastly approaches,Kenyan Peasants Farmers(KPL) wonder if enough is being done to counter climate change.There have been mixed reactions as the world at large faces extreme weather conditions that could have been easily averted if global emissions were curbed earlier as recommended.   Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza was recently disgraced by Members of County Assembly as they stormed out of the building as soon as she started addressing them.To her utter dismay,she was left addressing empty chairs.Due to the awkwardness of it all,the speaker had to adjourn the meeting. The MCAs went ahead to chant demonstration songs calling for the ousting of the current Governor.Just after they stormed out the MCAs addressed the press bitterly claiming that she came to the premises accompanied by goons which according to them wwas totally unacceptable. Kenyan Peasants League(KPL) members recently delivered a petition to the Sugarboard office in Westlands and held a demonstration against Genetically Modified Organisms. KPL believes that GMOs are affecting farmers across the country in a negative way and that something needs to be done before the situation becomes dire. There is solid proof out there that GMOs kill as they can cause diseases such as cancer hence shortening one's lifespan significantly.The government needs to ban GMOs for the sake of Kenyan citizens as they deserve better than death on a silver platter.
